Meet Our Directors
Keith E. Harris - Executive Director/CEO
As the founder of TYLA and a living testament to its mission, I understand that individuals facing trauma, crisis, and systemic barriers have the potential to become the architects of their own futures and vital anchors for their communities through personal empowerment.
My personal journey of transformation is anchored in both lived experience and extensive education. I hold an Associate Degree in Theology, diplomas in Drug & Alcohol Treatment and Accounting, over 12 vocational certifications, and three honors for my service as a vocational and academic aide. My specialized training includes life coaching services, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Substance Abuse (CBISA), the Cognitive Structuring Paradigm, re-entry support, mental health workshops, and leadership development in the Dialogic Model.
Healing and growth are not distant goals—they are measurable outcomes. Together, with community support, we are changing lives one participant, one cohort, and one community at a time.

Assistant Director - Kay L Thurman/COO
As Assistant Director of Turning Your Life Around, Inc., my leadership is rooted in integrity, compassion, and the transformative power of lived experience. Having navigated and overcome domestic abuse, homelessness, and grief, I channel my personal resilience into dedicated community support—guiding individuals from crisis toward long-term strength and stability.
With a solid foundation in Human Services education, my background combines extensive managerial oversight with specialized crisis intervention. I have held leadership roles across business operations, project management, childcare administration, and youth ministry, showcasing proven expertise in program design and team building. My specialized training includes certifications in Conflict Resolution, Crisis De-Escalation, Life Coaching services, and Professional Helping.
As a steadfast advocate for survivors, I have facilitated domestic abuse support groups, mentored youth impacted by trauma, published guidance on escaping abusive environments, and drafted legislative proposals for a federal and state Victim Rights Act. I am deeply honored to help drive TYLA’s mission of personal empowerment forward.
